David Lyle Rosenbeck

David Lyle Rosenbeck, 81, of Creston, Iowa passed away on Wednesday February 19, 2020 at Sunnyview Care Center in Ankeny, Iowa.

David was born on March 29, 1938 to Andrew and Bertha Rosenbeck in Guthrie Center, Iowa. He served in the US Navy for four years in the 1950s. Throughout his life he was employed as an electrician, truck driver, as well as spending several years at Wellman Dynamics.  His favorite career by far, however, was as a musician.  He played a mean guitar and sang vocals with several bands including The Sundowners, The DJs, Denim & Lace, Backwash, and Lariat. He also enjoyed designing and building his own music gear including amplifiers, speaker boxes, and road cases.

David is survived by his children: Julie (Carl) Valasek, Gerad (Kristen) Rosenbeck, Aaron (Keiko) Rosenbeck, Greg (Pam) Hartman, Mike Hartman, and Marilyn (Nick) Sellman; grandchildren: Nick & Shandi Brown, Marcus & Morgan Rosenbeck, Kaiden & Maika Rosenbeck, Stephen and Scotty Hartman, Rebekah Ramsey, Jessica Gomke, and Tyson Newman, as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his three siblings Drew, Clara, and Donna, and a great grandson John D. Gomke.

Funeral services will be held on Friday March 6, 2020 at 11:00AM at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Creston, Iowa.
