William Lawrence Stoffer

William Lawrence Stoffer, 64, was born September 8, 1956 in Harrisburg, PA, the son of William W. and Delores (Miller) Stoffer.  He died unexpectedly on Friday, December 25, 2020 at his home in Spencer, IA and will be dearly missed.

Bill received his early education at Central Dauphin High School and went on to attend Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis, MN for a degree in Bakery Management and Operations.  This is where he met the love of his life, Marie.

Bill was united in marriage to Marie Odland on August 30, 1975 in Harrisburg, PA.  Bill was a jack of all trades but his two favorite jobs were bartending and driving semi-truck.  He started working for his family’s bakery at an early age and ended his career working over 20+ years at Eaton Corporation as a machinist in Spencer, IA where he retired.

Bill will be remembered for his love of his family, animals and Harley Davidson’s.  He enjoyed a stiff cocktail, good music, playing cards, road trips out to the East Coast to visit his friends and family and riding his motorcycle with Marie.  In his younger days he was even quite the pool shark.

Thankful for having shared his life are his wife Marie of Spencer, IA and his daughter Sabrina (Aubrey Brosz) Sioux Falls, SD.  His mom Vera Moore, Harrisburg, PA.  His brothers Victor (Julie) Stoffer, Marysville, PA, Donald (Wendy) Carberry, Elizabethtown, PA, sisters Jo Marie (Joseph) Stravinskas, Lebanon, PA and Dona (Mark) Crego, Ocean City, NJ, his sister-in-law Diane (John) Duncan, Hendersonville, TN and several nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, Clifford and Caroline Odland; his brother Wayne Stoffer and sister Susan Boudreaux.

Bill requested that no formal service be held.  We are hoping to possibly have a gathering in the spring if Covid allows celebrating his life. Memorials can be directed to Marie Stoffer at 228 4th St. SW Spencer, IA, 51301 if desired.
