Pamela Sue Frye

Pamela Sue Frye, 68, of Clayton passed away Saturday, December 5, 2020 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Pamela was born on September 30, 1952 in Dubuque, Iowa the daughter of Orville and Fernette (Luster) Echard.  She graduated from MFL High School and attended NICC in Peosta.  She was united in marriage to Michael Lee Frye on August 20th, 1971 in Monona, Iowa.  Pamela had been employed at Northern Engraving in Waukon, Advanced Transformer in Monona, cook at Miss McGregor, cook at White Springs and Bills Boat Landing in Clayton, and retired from Agri processors in Postville. Pam enjoyed family gatherings where cooking was a must, Euchre was always played, and teaching her cooking and crafting skills to the next generation of family. She enjoyed fishing and frogging on the great Mississippi and of course the occasional overnights at the casinos. 

Survivors include her husband of 49 years Michael of Clayton, children Sara (Mike) Casper and Catrina (Shane) Suomala, grandchildren Hayle and Nathan Vagedes, Mikayla Suomala, Alex, Eric Craft, great grandson Liam Merkle, siblings Jacque (Art) Messler, Boe (Pat) Echard, Dale (Sandy) Echard, Ruth Runice, Wanda Echard (David Spiker), a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Orville and Fernette Echard, sisters Ramona Speck and Judy Meyer, and brother John Echard 

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Iowa Cremation is assisting the family.
