Patricia Irene Shaw, 81, of Birmingham, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, August 08, 2020 at the Keosauqua Heath Care Center in Keosauqua, Iowa.  Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 5th, 2020 at the Abel Cemetery in Hedrick, Iowa.  Officiating is Pastor Larry Smith.  Entrusted with the arrangements is Iowa Cremation.

Patricia was born on March 02, 1939 in Wapello County, Iowa the daughter of Fred and Vivian Jones.  She graduated from the University of Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She was united in marriage to Morris Hugh Shaw Sr. on August 25, 1957 in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Patricia was a teacher with the public schools for 14 years. Then was a teacher for Kirkwood Community College at the Men’s Reformatory in Anamosa, Iowa. Patricia was an educator for 27 years.  She was co-author of periodical Grave News. Patricia was a member of SAPIC (State association for the preservation of Iowa Cemeteries) and many historical societies mostly involving genealogy.

Patricia is survived by her husband, Morris Hugh Shaw Sr. of Birmingham, Iowa; a grandson, Jonathan Shaw of Chicago, Illinois; a granddaughter, Jennifer (Paul) Garcia of Parker, Colorado; a brother, Max (Linda) Jones of Blakesburg, Iowa; and great-grandchildren, Evan and Ariana of Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Dana Scott and Morris Hugh Shaw Jr.
