Leslie James Meadows

I had the great pleasure of meeting Les and working with him as one of the Operating Crafts trainers. Les was always great to be around as his sense of humor helped relieve the boredom of long nights waiting for crews to arrive. We spent many hours exploring the countless cities and stations across the Western United States during the mergers of Union Pacific Railroad with the CNW, DRGW, SP and others. I feel privileged to have counted Les as a great friend, and will miss him and his phone calls. Always had something good and interesting to tell me. RIP my brother. Sorry for your loss Dawn.

I went to Boone HS with Les and graduated with him in the class of 1970. We were in National Guard together (different units) and I remember him setting up a nice bar in one of the quonset huts at summer camp. "North to Alaska" got a lot of play in the juke box. Les and I both worked for C&NW and UPRR. I really enjoyed working with Les and our discussions. Great photo of Les as I always will remember his smile. He will be missed.
