Barbara J. Smuck, age 84, from Hubbard passed away on September 17, 2019 at the Hubbard Care Center.

Barb Brown was born on January 29, 1935 in Hedrick, IA. She was one of two children of Robert and Mildred (Reed) Brown. They moved to Iowa Falls in 1950, where Barb graduated from high school in 1952.

On February 14, 1954 Barb was united in marriage to Kenneth Smuck in Iowa Falls. After they were married, Ken and Barb lived in Hubbard where they raised their five children, 4 boys and 1 girl. They lived on a farm south of Hubbard for 30 plus years before moving into the Hubbard Care Center in 2016. Barb stayed at home until their youngest was in high school. She then worked several factory jobs until retiring from American Packaging in 2000. Barb enjoyed dancing and baking. She enjoyed horses whether it be riding or driving. Ken and her liked to go to horse pulls and the Waverly horse sales. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Those left to treasure her memory include her husband of 65 years Ken Smuck of Hubbard, two sons Ray (Donna) Smuck of Hubbard and Randy (Peggy) Smuck of Hubbard, one daughter Brenda Smuck of Woodward; five grandchildren Steph (Jesse) VanderWal of Maxwell, Paul Smuck of Hubbard, Dani (Matt) Baker of Hubbard, Sara (Robert) Sisk of Hubbard, and Michelle (Roman) Bahr of Bradford; seven great-grandchildren Lance, Alexis, Kason, Kodi, Wade, and Jaxson; along with many other relatives and friends.   

Barb was preceded in death by her parents, her mother and father in law, and two sons Denny and Scott Smuck.
