Per David's wishes there will be no service at this time. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
Iowa Cremations is handling all other arrangements.

David is survivied by his Fiance Christ's Hoffman (and family) Son, David Lee (Kimber). His special fishing buddy Grandson, Jaxson Lee. Loving sister, Claudia Taylor (Paul). Sister Jane Jeffries and brother Tom Wortman. Also survived by nieces and other family members.

He was proceeded in death by his parents George and Helen (McNalley) Wortman and sister Julie Dyson.

David grew up in Cedar Rapids and Hiawatha. He loved his family vacation on the Mississippi. Hi is heart always loved Holiday Shores in McGregor, Iowa. Hunting and fishing were a love he passed on to his son and grandson. He and Christie had a lot of wonderful times there. David went to Kennedy High School and Kirkwood College.

He was a diesel mechanic most of his life. For the majority if the time he was with Hawkeye International. While working there he spent many hours with his sister Julie training and showing horses. He also enjoyed giving lessons at Four Oaks Stables which was his mother's dream.

He later worked for Croell Ready Mix until he was unable to work. The last few years he spent his life with Christie, David Lee, Jax and Dee, fishing on the river to in the boat at Palo and watching Nascar.

He was a man with a big heart who lived and loved hard. he is loved and will be missed so much.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the family at 2814 Q Ave NW Cedar Rapids, IA 52405.
