Jo Ann (Kline) Milligan of Washington, IA, age 76, passed away on June 14, 2019. Jo leaves behind her husband of 53 years, Lonny Milligan and 2 daughters; Shannon (JD) Unternahrer and Heather (Andy) Sterner; 9 grandchildren – Marie (Matt) Swalin, Maylee Swalin, Michael, Tony, Adrian, and Braxton Unternahrer and David, Kinser, and Frances Cortum; one sister, Maxine Bruinekool and several extended family members.
Jo was born April 27, 1943 in Knoxville, IA to Max and Frances (Vickroy) Kline. Jo and Lonny were united in marriage on September 3, 1965. They raised their 2 daughters in Urbandale, IA before moving to Washington, IA in 1989. In Washington, Jo and Lonny owned/operated the Korner Kremery until retirement. Jo’s hobbies included sewing, antiquing, garage sale shopping, “junking”, decorating, and watching TV crime/drama shows. Jo deeply loved her family and especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate Jo’s life will be held at 11am on June 24, 2019 at Independent Bible Church in Wayland, IA, followed by a light luncheon. Interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials to be given to WCDC or Paws N More in Washington.
