Peggy Lea Claude, 66, of Kanawha passed away Monday, July 1, 2019 at home. Peggy Lea (Anderson) Claude was born on January 5, 1953 to Irene and Kenneth "Toad" Anderson in Forest City.

Peggy and Terry Claude were united in marriage in 1971. To this union they had a daughter, Sybil. Peggy and Terry resided in Britt for 18 years and later divorced. Peggy then moved to Kanawha along with her 
special friend Ronald Putzstuck.

Peggy was a member of the United Methodist Church. She worked at the Westview Care Center for 18 years and was then employed at the Hancock County Hospital until she became ill. Peggy enjoyed riding her horse, Bella, golfing, boating, shopping, decorating her home, playing cards with her friends and family and spending as much time with her family as possible, especially her new great-grandsons. She was also known for her big smile and her quick wit.

Peggy is survived by her special friend, Ronald Putzstuck of Kanawha; daughter Sybil(Kent) Johnson of Kanawha; grandson Kalib (Cassie) Johnson of Kanawha; granddaughters Kourtney (Nick) Formanek of Britt and Kealey Johnson of Kanawha; great-grandsons Kade and Kam Johnson and Karsyn Formanek; brother Mike (Mary) Anderson of Britt; sister-in-law Cindy Anderson of Garner along with many nieces and nephews.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Larry, sister Carolyn and brother Craig.

The family will be having a celebration of life for Peggy on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at the Britt Hospitality Room from 5 to 7 pm.
