Jack W. Cook

Jack W. Cook, 77, of Stratford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at the Paula J Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge.   A celebration of life and luncheon will be held on Saturday, July 27, at 10:30 a.m. at the Duncombe Rec Center located at 510 Folger Street in Duncombe, Iowa.

Jack Cook was born November 14, 1941 to Archie and Myrtle Cook.  He graduated from St. Edmonds High School in 1960.   He attended Nebraska State Teachers College in Wayne, Nebraska and Fort Dodge Community College.  He was a standout football player in high school and played at both colleges.

Jack married Mary Agnes Foote on September 29, 1962.  They raised their family in Duncombe.  Jack and Mary were very active in the community.   Jack coached little league baseball for numerous years and they both acted and directed plays in the Duncombe Community Theater.   He retired from his work with the City of Duncombe in 2003.

Jack is survived by his four children, Janelle (Brad) Glenn of Bloomer, WI; Kendra (Steve) of Duncombe;  Archie (Kari) of Webster City; and  Andrew of Houston, TX; eleven grandchildren, Morgan, Rachel, Seth (Sara), Stephan, Zackary (Kendal), Jacob (Maddy), Alex (Carmen), Abby, Jackson, Dakota and Avery; one great granddaughter, Aubrey; his siblings, Jane De La Hunt, Joan (Maris) Doster, Jerry (Earline) Cook, Jon (Helen) Cook, Judy (David) O'Leary.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary, his parents and siblings Jean Beer, James Cook and June Glaser.

In lieu of flower, the family suggests memorials be directed to Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.
