Barbara Ann Nuechterlein
Barbara Ann Nuechterlein, 84, of Cedar Rapids, died July 6, 2019, at West Ridge Care Center. She was born January 1, 1935, in Marion, Iowa to Elmer and Avis (Van Note) Neff.
Following her high school graduation Barbara attended college and then began a career with Iowa Electric/Alliant Energy. She retired after 30 years of service. Barbara was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Marion, and served as Worthy High Priestess in Eastern Star. She enjoyed playing cards, volunteering at hospitals, and going to dinner with friends.
Barbara is survived by her children Robert Knutsen, and Joan Knutsen; cousins Elma Smith, Scott Smith, and Linda Johnson; special friend Bob Lee; and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Harry Carbaugh, Donald Miller, and Robert Nuechterlein.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday July 10, 2019 at 1:30 pm at First Presbyterian Church in Marion, 802 12th St, Marion, IA. Family will greet guests one hour prior to service. Private burial will take place at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society in Barbara’s name.
