Diann K. Hayes

Diann K. Hayes, 71, of Lamont, Iowa, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2019 in her home following a long illness with COPD.  A Celebration of Life is planned for friends and family on Friday, February 1, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the community center in Arlington, Iowa.  

Diann was born on December 22, 1947 in Manchester, Iowa to Joseph and Viola (Moorman) Klein.  She was raised in rural Dundee, Iowa and graduated from Manchester High School in 1966.  On March 28, 1992, Diann was united in marriage to Thomas Hayes at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.  Diann was an office manager for many years and also helped her husband on their farm.  She loved to paint ceramics, cook, do lawn care, travel, especially around Iowa, and had a passion for sewing.

Surviving family includes her husband, Tom of Lamont, IA; four children, Darren (Tiffany) Farmer of Center Point, IA; Dawn Farmer of Cedar Rapids, IA; step-daughter, Darcy (Dave) Kurth of Arlington, IA; step-son, Chad (Rebecca) Hayes of Hampstead, NC; six grandchildren, a sister Sue (Dan) Lynch of Farley, IA; and three brothers, Dennis (JoAnn) Klein of Hiawatha, IA; Steve (Debbie) Klein of Tiffin, IA; and Jon (Mick) Klein of Dundee, IA.  Besides family, she will be missed by many friends who understood her unique form of humor.

Diann was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew.

Memorial contributions will be directed to the family.
