Gloria Anderson

Gloria Anderson, 84, passed away February 9, 2019.  Gloria was born February 2, 1935 in Postville, IA to Paul and Blanche Swanson.  She was baptized April 2, 1935.  She grew up in the movie theater business.  After graduation from Maxwell High School she married Allen Anderson in 1953.  They made their home on the family farm near Nevada, IA.  Gloria worked at RH Donnelley's and the Nevada Journal during that time. The family moved to Central City, NE in 1971 where Gloria worked as an office manager at Atlantic Homes. 

Allen and Gloria returned to Des Moines, Iowa after moves around the country with The Weitz Company.  Gloria enjoyed her employment at Farm Bureau and IPTV.

They moved to Cedar Rapids in 2002 to retire and be active in their grandchildren's lives. Allen and Gloria were active members in faith communities everywhere they lived, most recently at St Mark's Lutheran Church.  Gloria enjoyed creating art, reading, making people laugh, and staying connected with friends and family.   
 
Gloria is survived by her daughter, Shevawn (Rich) Huntley of Mission Viejo, CA, and daughter-in-law, Ronda of Cedar Rapids, IA.  Grandchildren Erin (Phil) Jones, Clark (Maggie) Anderson, Sam (Kirstin) Anderson, Scott and Kristen Huntley; five great grandchildren and two brothers, Bob and Paol.  

She is preceded in death by her husband Allen (2015) and son, Todd (2012).  

A funeral service will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be directed to St Mark’s Lutheran Church, Marion, IA; Linn-Mar Foundation, or charity of your choice.
