P. E. Will never be the same... Trampoline. Bowling at Memorial Union. Archery. But the best was starting 5th and 6th grade softball teams in all Ballard towns. Thank you Mrs. Whipp!

Dear Cousins, I am so sorry to hear about Aunt Ruth. She made a point to always stay in touch with us and celebrate our successes and those of our children. We enjoyed her visit with us in NM many years ago. Our thoughts are with you. Love, Becca

Dear Cousins -- Meg, Shannon, Sheridan, Reed, Boone -- and Rob: I have been thinking of all of you these past many days, and remembering in gratitude the years of your mother's life, and the times we've spent together. Some recollections that have popped up (in no certain order): Rob's "motor" bicycle and the apartment near the University of MN ag campus; your home in SE Minneapolis where we delighted in seeing the trains go by just beyond the back gate; spending Friday evenings and nights in our pajamas, pretending to try to sleep head-to-foot in your beds, as our parents joyfully played bridge in the living room; Thanksgivings together; visiting you at your farm near Huxley, and watching the sun rise. I hear Ruth's voice in all of these memories. I hear her laughter, I hear her coaching, I hear her explaining the way of things. I hear her singing in the Methodist Church in Gary, during one of our early Peden reunions, when Pearl still lived in the white house on the corner. I will miss her. I hope that you find comfort in remembering. And, I am so glad that you have one another. With deepest sympathy, Ann (Bullock) Burns

To Ruth’s Family, Please accept my condolences in regards to your Mom. I have many memories of our years together on the Ballard staff. She was my go to when I needed some grounding in “common sense” and also for many laughs and keeping things real. She was a colleague I enjoyed as I also enjoyed her family over the years. Blessings to you all. Mary Gladfelter
