A private family service will be held for Irvin B. Hinz at The Rock Island Arsenal in Rock Island, Illinois on January 6th, 2020 at 1pm. Kim Thornton (daughter) will be handling the arrangements.
Irvin B Hinz, 84, a resident of Davenport, IA died Tuesday, December 31, 2019. Those left to honor his memory include: Shirlee Hinz (Wife). Children: Daughter - Kimberly (Bob) Thornton of Nashville, TN, Stepson - CJ Silver of San Jose, CA, and adopted son Nathon Fox of Tulsa, OK. Irv was preceded in death by his parents John and Mable Hinz and all of his 5 siblings: Lorna Ellis, Eleanor Dorothy, Elroy Hinz, Junior Hinz and Babe Hinz. May they once again all be reunited.
Irv was born in Anamosa, IA on Jan 14, 1935. Irv proudly served in the United States Air Force as Staff Sgt for 4 years during the Korea era. He was united in marriage to Shirlee Marshall on December 6, 1959. They had been blessed with 60 years of marriage! Irv and Shirlee enjoyed working together as hairdressers before they both embarked on different careers. Irv worked in the hearing industry for nearly 30 years making a difference in people lives. Irv had an amazing voice and sang barbershop music in The Cordbusters Choirs for over 10 years. Irv enjoyed family, his dog and best friend Timmie, neighboring, golf, working on cars and staying busy with outdoor projects.
