Helen M. Burgess-Spring

Helen was a good friend with my mom, Lynn Beckmann, when they both lived at Keystone Assisted Living. She always had a smile on her face and was so kind to everyone. Prayers for comfort and peace for the family.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Helen at the Gardens. We shared many fun stories and jokes together. She was an amazing woman, and what a wonderful life to celebrate. She was so spunky!! My heart goes out to you all on your loss.

In 1969-1970, we were neighbors to your your parents on 28th Street Drive in Cedar Rapids. Our baby girl was born during that time, and your Mom so enjoyed seeing her as she grew. (Now, she is 49!) Your parents were very nice neighbors--as I remember, your Mom worked at a dental office at that time. Within the past few months, I recognized her at the Gardens, and reintroduced myself to her. May she rest in peace. Bonnie Thomas

I met Helen in January while I was visiting a family member at the Gardens. Helen would greet me with a big smile and a hello every time I saw her. I will miss seeing her smile and her happy disposition. What a wonderful lady.

My therapy dog, Gunnar, and I always enjoyed our monthly visits with Helen. She was usually the first person we would go see at The Gardens. She enjoyed the visits with us as much as we enjoyed her. She loved all the therapy dogs who came to see her. Ann and Miley were another therapy dog team which visited her often. I was looking forward to seeing her again today and was saddened to see in the paper that she had passed. My sincere sympathies and condolences to your family.
