Timothy J. Sebetka

Pat & Family, so sorry to hear of Tim's passing. My son loves saying hi to his pups on our daily walks and admiring his sunflowers in the summer time. We will miss his friendly smile in the neighborhood!

We're shocked that someone as vibrant as the sun he loved to worship could vanish so suddenly. Tim welcomed us to Iowa City with open arms back in 1993 and we can't think of a moment spent with him (and John) that didn't include raucous laughter, eye rolling, deep sighs, and biting sarcasm. Rekindling our friendship online gave us a rare reason to praise Facebook. We wish out children could have met Tim. He would have counseled them so well, and they would have counted him as a close and valued friend.

I miss you so much, especially our daily "on the way to work" Marco Polo's, our lunch time chats and our nightly texts. *sigh* I am so glad I was THERE FOR YOU all these years, when others turned their back. I am so glad I told you I LOVE YOU when others decided to remain silent. I am so glad I told you that you are the STRONGEST MAN I know when others thought you were small. I am so glad I told you that all of your Degrees and achievements made me PROUD, when others told me not to discuss them. I am so glad that you had the ability to SPEAK your mind, when others asked, "How do we keep him quiet"? I am thankful I trusted my “woman’s instincts” and decided to check in on you. You would have been especially proud of Piper. She was amazing; she held it together and comforted others. You are right; Piper is her own person and strong. She will succeed in life. So many people have reached out to me, even some of your extended family from all over the country. I am amazed at the countless posts on FB and it makes me smile to read all of the funny stories about you. I will continue doing what you asked me to do. I will not let you down. Like Michelle O said, "When they go low, we go high". See ya kiddo…

I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences and prayers to Tim's family and friends. He was a classmate and friend from elementary through high school. Such an enormous personality! Tim was always so full of life, and always extended an understanding/heart/listening ear. Could make you laugh when most needed. This world has lost a vibrant spirit, sweet soul, with irreplaceable wit, and gorgeous/honest baby blues. So grateful for my time with Tim growing up and praying for all.???

Pat, Marvel, and Robyn, what a remarkable good fortune, that I should have a friend like Tim. The many years that Tim and I got to pal around, left me with memories to last a lifetime. Tim was vibrant and fun; his brilliant mind, quick wit, and charm could really light up a room. He was honest, authentic, and honorable. I send my deepest sympathy. Please do update about any gatherings, honoring Tim. With love from So Cal.
