Dorine Jones

Dorine (Pidcock) Jones was born on April 24, 1924, near Beaconsfield, Iowa, to Ethel E. (Manning) and George L. Pidcock and departed this life on September 1, 2018, at Bickford Assisted Living and Memory Care in Urbandale, Iowa.

Dorine enjoyed growing up on the farm with all the family pets and the activities of her brothers. She attended school in Beaconsfield, graduating from high school in 1941, and then from cosmetology school in Des Moines.

On April 14, 1946, Dorine married Raymond H. Jones; and they were blessed with a daughter, Michelle. Dorine worked as a beautician and assisted Raymond with farm work. Their home was in Beaconsfield for 68 years.

Dorine was a member of the Beaconsfield United Methodist Church since 1935 and enjoyed many years of working in the church family. She also liked cats, gardening, reading, playing games, crocheting, and spending time with their grandchildren.

Dorine and Raymond enjoyed winter vacations in Texas for several years.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; infant son, Stephen Ray; and brother, Hugh Pidcock.

She is survived by her daughter, Michelle (David) Mohler, of Lamoni; two granddaughters, Amy (Ethan) Mechling, of Des Moines, and April (Brent) Wilson, of Johnston. A great-grandson, Baby Wilson, is expected in November. Other survivors include her brother, Elbert Pidcock, of Corydon, and other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 15, at the United Methodist Church in Beaconsfield.

Interment will be in Maple Row Cemetery in Kellerton, Iowa.

Memorials may be directed to the Beaconsfield United Methodist Church or to the Alzheimer's Association.
