David Charles Kraus
David Charles Kraus of Hudson, Iowa passed away October 2, 2018 at the age of 66. A memorial service will be held October 14, 2018 at the North Tama Activity Center in Traer from 2-5pm. Burial will be at the Buckingham Cemetery in Traer at a later date.
David was born July 3, 1952 in Waterloo, Iowa to Richard and Frances (Bauer) Kraus. He graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1970. On June 5, 1976 he was united in marriage to Karin Boss at the Central Christian Church in Waterloo. David drove semi for many years and most recently worked for Randolph’s in Traer.
He enjoyed working around his farm, spending time with family and friends and watching old westerns. David was very talented in many ways, if it was broke he could fix it. His kids nicknamed him “MacGyver”.
David is survived by two daughters Stephanie (Chad) Hansen of La Porte City and Michelle (Ryan) Ostrem of Ames, three grandchildren DJ, Preston, Piper; three brothers and his special friend Dianne Van Heiden.
David was preceded in death by his wife Karin, his parents, and one sister in infancy.
