Don Harlan Cole
Don Harlan Cole was born on October 9th, 1940 in Ames, IA to Don Harlan and Mary Ellen Sowerwine. Don married Carolyn Kay Franzen and together raised three children: Michael L. Cole (Lisa), Kimberly D. Nordman (Jim) and Don M. Cole (Michelle).
Don so loved and enjoyed having fun with his five grandchildren: Cole, Carter and Kaylyn Nordman; and Logan and Tanner Cole.
Don served in the United States Marine Corps and while serving found his love for driving semis and did so until he retired and moved to Bonita Springs, Florida in 2004. They enjoyed sunny Florida until they returned to Iowa to be with family again in 2017.
Don succumbed to COPD on November 10, 2018.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date. Memorials can be directed to Taylor House (3401 E. Douglas Avenue in Des Moines, IA 50317) in the name of the Don Cole family.
