Vern Coonfare, 78, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on May 1, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. Per Vern’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded and no services will be held at this time.
Vern was born on June 17, 1939; the son of Vern Sr and Mary (Malone) Coonfare.
Vern was preceded in death by his parents, brothers John, Ernie and Virgil.
Left to cherish Vern’s memories is his wife Catherine Coonfare, son Vern III (Melonie) in Swisher IA, son John (Leanna) from Omaha, NE and daughter Donna Coonfare from Tallahassee, FL Several grandchildren, many nephews and nieces and many friends. Also surviving are 3 brothers, Lawrence, Dale and Stephen and 7 sisters, Mary Ruth, Alice, Lora, Val, Colletta, Patricia and Pamela.
