Joseph Klein

Joseph Clayton Klein, 66 of Oxford, Iowa passed away peacefully on March 8, 2018 at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa surrounded by his family. 

Joe was born in Guttenberg, Iowa to Clayton and Katherine (Moreland) Klein on February 10, 1952.  He grew up in Tiffin, Iowa attending school in Oxford, Iowa.  He graduated from Clear Creek High School in 1969. After graduation, Joe had career stops in California, Oregon, Wyoming and Nevada.  In later life, Joe returned to Iowa where he worked for the City of Davenport and L.L. Pelling in North Liberty before retiring. 

Joe loved to travel, hunt and fish. Joe enjoyed life to the fullest and lived life on his terms.  His most treasured memories are the times he spent in Canada with his son, Ben and his family. 

Joe is survived by his parents, Clayton and Katherine Klein, son Benjamin  (Sandy) Klein,  grandchildren Alyssa, Hayden and Joslynn of Kitimat, British Columbia; a brother, Michael (Joanne) Klein of Waterville, Iowa and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks and deep gratitude to the wonderful nursing staff at Mercy Hospital Hospice Unit and Iowa City Hospice. 

Per Joe’s wishes, a memorial service will not be held.
