Paul Sorenson

Paul Sorenson, 90, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, June 22, at Martin Health Care, Cedar Falls.

He was born Feb. 27, 1928, in Cedar Falls, son of Paul and Frances Sorenson. He married Emma Challstrom on June 27, 1949; she died Aug. 9, 1975. On Sept. 17, 1988, he married Diane Kittrell in Lansing.

Paul graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1946. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserve for eight years and graduated from Northwestern College of Chiropractic in 1958. Paul practiced in Cedar Falls, retiring in 1994.

He was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Cedar Falls.

Survived by: his wife; a daughter, Laura (Dale) Shores of Cedar Falls; two grandchildren, Kari (Travis) Mai of Solon and Zachary Jackson of Minneapolis; Diane's son, Mark (Barb) Kittrell of Cedar Falls; her daughters, Rona (Dani) Duke of North Liberty and Mimi (Dave) Rice of  Cedar Falls; grandchildren, Bess Baldwin, Ben (Katelyn) Kreimeyer, Jared (Jessica) Baldwin, Nick (Meghan) Kreimeyer, Audrey (Tim) Dodd and  Alex (Tanya) Kreimeyer, all of Cedar Falls, Alaina Kittrell of Minneapolis, Jenna Duke of Moose, Wyo., and Holli Duke of North Liberty;  many great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Richard Sorenson of St. Helens, Ore., and Erik Sorensen of Keizer, Ore.

Preceded in death by: his parents; and a brother, Robert.

Celebration of Life: 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 2, at First United Methodist Church, Cedar Falls.

Memorials in lieu of flowers: may be directed to the Cedar Bend Humane Society.
