Nancy J. Lewis, 56, of North Liberty died Wednesday June 6, 2018 at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City. Per Nancy’s request there will be no visitation or services. Iowa Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two sons Shaun (Nicole) of Oxford and Aron (Autumn) of North Liberty; a brother Eric (Julie) Vandewater of North Liberty and a sister Teddy (Jim) Gertsma of Vermillion, South Dakota. She is also survived by four grandchildren Lerin, Maya, McKenna and Michael. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Penny Vandewater.
Nancy was born on December 18, 1961 in Leon the daughter of Willis Dale and Ida Jane Foreman Vandewater. She was a correctional officer at Oakdale Medical Classification Center for over 11 years.
Nancy enjoyed watching old movies, the outdoors and time spent with her beloved family and many friends. She will forever be remembered as a loving and wonderful mother, sister, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Memorial donations may be given to the Cedar Valley Humane Society in Nancy’s name.
