Marlene Kay (Diekhuis) Willey, 67 passed away on June 19, 2018 after a lengthy illness.
Marlene was born January 27, 1951 to Marvin & Phyllis Diekhuis. She was raised in Garner, IA and graduated from Garner Hayfield in 1969.
She was married in 1969 and has 4 children. She divorced and later married Dennis Willey & added 2 stepsons.
Marlene was a stay at home mom & wife. She enjoyed running an in-home daycare, camping, playing cards & bingo, and spending cuddle time with her dog Candy.
Marlene is survived by her husband Dennis Willey (Cedar Rapids), her children, Angie Maiers (Cedar Rapids), Michael Riechmann (Sumner), Michele (Jon) Formanek (Cedar Rapids), Amy (Matt) Kunkle (Marion), Matt Willey, (Cedar Rapids), Greg (LaWanda) Willey (Cedar Rapids), 9 grandchildren & 3 great-grandchildren. As well as her brothers Craig (Donna) Diekhuis & Jim (Jeanine) Diekhuis (Garner), many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, & cousins.
She is proceeded in death by her parents Marvin & Phyllis Diekhuis & her brother Michael Diekhuis.
Marlene was cremated per her wishes. There will be a visitation at 11:00 AM on Saturday June 30th at First Lutheran Church followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.
