Patrick Monnahan
Patrick Mitchell Monnahan, 69, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. A private family graveside will be held at a later date.
Patrick was born August 19, 1948, the son of Dale and Gladys (Blockhus) Monnahan, in Cedar Rapids. He graduated from La Salle High School in 1966. He then went on to serve with the United States Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. Patrick was a member of the Laborer Union Local #43. He also ran the Alley Inn in downtown Cedar Rapids during the 1980’s. During his stay at the Marshalltown Vet’s Home, he assembled poppies for the veterans, and was very proud to be a part of it.
Survivors include his sister, Priscilla Monnahan; brother, Mike (Sharon) Monnahan; two nieces, Emily (Jeff) Hepker, Kari Cooper; and several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
