Robert "Bob" Arthur Huebner

 Robert “Bob” Huebner
1939 ~ 2018

Robert “Bob” Arthur Huebner, 78, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, IA after a long battle with prostate cancer. He was born to Jack and Borghild Huebner on December 1, 1939, in Fargo, ND. Bob grew up in St. Louis Park and graduated from Macalester College in 1962.

Married June 3, 1967, to Karen (Graf) Huebner. The Huebner family grew to include three children, Steve, Amy, and Ann.

Over the course of his 78 years, Bob would be the first to say that he wore many hats. The list includes; son, brother, friend, Army Reservist, accountant, husband, farmer, father, controller, small business owner, grandpa, train enthusiast, patient attendant, and volunteer. Bob’s passion in all of these areas made a lasting impact on those that he met.

Survivors include his wife Karen; his son Steve Huebner of Ankeny, IA; 2 daughters Amy Huebner Miller (Shawn Miller) of Circle Pines, MN, and Ann Townsend (Brian Townsend) of Rosemount, MN; 4 grandchildren Sophia, Zach, Casey and Theodore; sister Marcia Peterson (Sherman Peterson) of Sisseton, SD; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and other loved ones.

At 2 P.M. on Monday, February 26th, family, friends, and others whose life Bob touched are invited to Bethesda Lutheran Church; 1517 Northwestern Ave. Ames, Iowa 50010, for a memorial service, with coffee and fellowship to follow. Knowing Iowa weather, an open house will also held in Minnesota at a later date.

In celebration of his life, we remember Bob’s favorite bible verse:

Psalm 118:24  This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
