Olive Janiece Findlay
Olive Janiece Findlay of Waukee, passed away on Sunday February 4, 2018 at home. She was 92 years young.
Olive was born on August 9, 1925 to Homer and Dora (Adams) Wells in Cantril, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Junior Findlay on August 24, 1947 in Batavia, Iowa.
Junior and Olive built a farming life together, first in Arizona, then returning to Iowa where they farmed in Wright, Eddyville, Rhodes and finally settling in Collins and farming there for 43 years.
Olive’s greatest accomplishment was her ever-growing family who meant the world to her. She especially loved picnics and Christmas when the entire family got together. Olive had an adventurous spirit. She loved horses, dogs and all animals.
Olive and Junior loved to travel, taking trips by car or by their plane. Olive even learned to land the plane and knew she could do it again if given the chance. Olive and Junior took their children on trips all over the country, taking lots of pictures along the way.
Olive is survived by her loving children, Larraine (Fred) Etnier, Larry (Leanne) Findlay, Janice Findlay, John (Theresa) Findlay and Lynn (Jim) Wilson; 14 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren; as well as her sister Hazel Cline and brother Dwight (Dorothy) Wells.
In death, Olive joins her loving husband, Junior, Mother and Father, her siblings; Cecil Wells, Leonard Wells, Howard Wells, Cleda Dugger, Elva Wells and Ethel Wells.
Together Again
