Trina Weeks

Trina Ann Weeks, 73, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Friday, December 7, 2018 at Donna & Dennis Oldorf Hospice House. A celebration of life will be held at Salem United Methodist Church, 3715 33rd Ave SW, Cedar Rapids, on Saturday, December 22, at 1:00 by Chaplain Deb Black. Friends may visit with the family from noon to 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Trina was born April 3, 1945 in Cedar Rapids to Charles and Betty Taylor. She was an active member of New Creation Church for 10 years. Trina attended the Walk to Emmaus where she became closer to the Lord.

She belonged to the Creative Writing Group. Trina enjoyed writing poetry and stories. She loved telling the stories to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Trina was a talented artist and excelled at oil painting and pen and ink. Trina worked at Quaker Oats, Heritage Care Center, Merchant Bank and Tanager Place while raising four children.

Survivors include her children; Karen Sue (Doug) Stout, David Weeks, Terry (Charlotte) Weeks and Shawn (Renae) Weeks, five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Also surviving are siblings; Jane Taylor, Marie (Allen) Steen, Mike (Tracey) Taylor, Linda Taylor, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Bruce, of 56 years; one brother, Charles Taylor Jr., two sisters, Diana Jean and Bonnie Lou and one great-grandson.

Trina would like to thank all of her "telephone friends", especially Becky & her husband, cousins and her friends at Salem Church.
