Philip N. Jorgensen
Philip N. Jorgensen, 89, of Cedar Rapids passed away on December 27th. He was born on December 15, 1929, to John W. and Bessie Jorgensen.
He farmed until 1973 when he became a Federal food inspector, a job he held for the next 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jack and wife Rhoda Jorgensen, and his brother-in-law Jerry Kelley.
Left to cherish Phil’s memory are his wife of 66 years, Jane Jorgensen, his four sons and their spouses, Mike and Woodlyn Jorgensen of Iola, Texas; Tom and Beth Jorgensen of Coralville; Scott and Michelle Jorgensen of Green Bay, Wisconsin; Bill Jorgensen and Michael Power of Roswell, Georgia; and honorary son Hieu Vu of California. Also surviving are ten grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rosie and husband Skip Dale of Audubon; and Mary Kelley of Bolivar, Missouri; and his brother Dan and wife Elaine of Audubon.
Memorial service will be at Cedar Rapid’s Our Savior Lutheran Church on Monday, December 31st at 10:30 am. Visitation will be at 9:30 am.
