Shirley R. Herb, 73 of Cedar Rapids died Sunday April 15, 2018 at Living Center East. Per Shirley’s request there will be no visitation or service. Iowa cremation is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her two sons Jerry (Pauline) and Richard (Kandi) all of Cedar Rapids; three sisters Jo Ann, Mary, and Joyce; and a son-in-law Kyle Koopmans of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. She is also survived by four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and her former husband Duayne Herb. She was preceded in death by a daughter Tina Koopmans.
Shirley was born on May 12, 1944 in Cedar Rapids the daughter of Albert and Pauline Parmer Swearingen. She married Duayne Herb on March 16, 1963 in Cedar Rapids. They were later divorced.
Shirley worked in various departments at Target and retired from there after more than 20 years of service.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed the time spent with her beloved family and many friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
