Marjorie Ellen Jerome

Marjorie Ellen Jerome, a long-time resident of Clive, passed away on April 15th at 81 due to complications from pneumonia.  Visitation will be held at the Covenant Presbyterian Church on April 20th at 10:00 AM with the service at 11:00 AM. A private family burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Covenant Presbyterian Church at 1025 28th Street West Des Moines Iowa 50266. 

Marjorie was born in Sioux City, Iowa on May 21st, 1936, to Howard and Blanche (Miller) Amick. She was the second of three children, including her older brother Richard Amick and her younger sister Martha Lindsey. Their childhood was spent on the family farm on County Line Road in West Des Moines where they had horses and other livestock.  She attended Pierce Grade School then went on to graduate from Valley High.  She completed her Associate in Arts degree from Stephens College. Soon after graduating from college, she met Kent Jerome on a blind date and they married on November 10th, 1956 and had four children: Jeff Jerome, Joni Kerr, Pam Wical and Brad Jerome. She spent the next years of her life raising four kids, being active with her horses, and enjoying time at the family cabins in Northern Wisconsin. Her extended family included 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
