James Luth

Tori, I heard from my therapist, a former student of James, about his passing. I am shocked. I lost Brad earlier this year, so I can begin to imagine what you are feeling. I hope you are comforted by many warm memories of your life together.

James Luth was a friend of ours for 22 years. He had an amazing ability to heal others & was extremely compassionate and generous with his time, heart and home. He would give you the shirt off his back.... twice. He was a solid friend, somebody you could count on through thick and thin and you knew he would always be there for you. We used to go to family night when James & Tori would graciously host as many friends as they could fit in their house and there was much laughter, wonderful food, and great companionship. When James & Tori had their commitment ceremony, it was a beautiful and moving event that we all enjoyed tremendously. They were the perfect match and always complimentary & supportive of each other. James affected so very many lives in so many ways with his kind spirit, from the Mennonite community in Kalona with his healing hands through Shiatsu to the bikers at the annual Sturgis Motorcycle festival where he would videotape memories for the other attendees, he was always giving. He was fun, witty, entertaining, smart, and gifted. He will be so incredibly missed by so very many people. Rest in peace James, you will always be in our hearts and you will never be forgotten! Love Jill & Dan

James had a truly healing spirit. His presence, touch and will brought relief and even transcendence. He truly touched people. Tori, I am thinking of you as you navigate this difficult transition.

Earlier this year in May, I called James to congratulate him on his 60th birthday. He couldn't answer my call, but he wrote back that he was riding his bike with Tori to some jazz festival in Missouri. I was very happy for both of them and now I still can't believe that there has already passed one month since his quiet and discreet passing. I couldn't and I still can't find words to describe how I feel. I am grateful that I was one of the lucky onrs that James called "bro". James took me in his house from the streets when no one would help me. James had the biggest influence in my life. Thank you, Sir! May you find your peace and may the Light follow your paths! We pray for Tori to be strong and send her our love! Thank you from your many students from Romania!
