Beverly Dorothea Braunschweig

Beverly D. Braunschweig was born on February 12, 1931, in Denison, IA, to Harry and Dorothea (Bernhardt) Witt.  She passed away September 12, 2017, at the St. Luke Hospital in Sioux City, IA, at the age of 86 years and 7 months.  

Bev went to country school until third grade, when her father passed away.  Beverly, her mother and sister, Nancy moved to Odebolt, IA, to live with her grandparents. She graduated from Odebolt-Arthur Community Schools in 1949.

June 20, 1950, she was married to Leynn (Gene) Gibson and they were blessed with a daughter, Stephanie.  Beverly worked for Dresselhuis Law Firm during tax season and also at the Spring Lake Country Club for several years. 

May 30, 1980, she married Carl Braunschweig.  They made their home in the Odebolt, Lake View, and Wall Lake areas.

Beverly enjoyed baking and cooking.  She also enjoyed playing bridge, euchre, and golfing.  

She started working at the Howard Center Inc. in Sac City, IA, August 1995 where she was still working.  She loved the clients there and liked to keep busy.

In additional to her parents and her husband, Carl, she was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Richardson.

Survivors include, one daughter, Stephanie Ullrich and son in law Kyle Ullrich of Denison, IA, four grandchildren, Heidi (Rod) Slechta of Kiron, IA, Chris (Wendy) Ullrich of Kiron, IA, Holly (Dean Quirk) of Polk City, IA and Hope (Cecil) Wilson of Parker, CO, and 13 great-grandchildren.

A private burial will be held at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter, IA.
