Jill Zearley

Jill Ellen (Thein) Zearley, 65, of Manchester, Iowa, peacefully passed away on November 21, 2017 at home.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 24 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Colesburg, Iowa, at 11:00 AM.  Burial will be at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Colesburg.

Jill was born on February 3, 1952, in Guttenberg, Iowa, the daughter of Virginia and Lorraine (Larry) Thein.  She married Mike Zearley on December 27, 1969, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Garber, Iowa.

Jill worked for many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant, most recently at Strawberry Point Lutheran Home.  Her most important jobs were those of “Mom” and “Grandma.”  Jill was dedicated to her faith and her family.  She also enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and reading.

Jill is survived by her husband, Mike; her children, Terra (Jim) Schneider, of Brentwood, TN, Trisha (Luke) Arnold of Walker, IA, and Douglas Zearley of Dundee, IA; her beloved grandchildren, Sean and Riley Schneider, Madylin, Sam, and Allison Arnold, and Madisyn Zearley; her sisters and brothers, Sue (John) Galle, Sandy (Mick) Freisinger, Georgia (Mark) Brown, Judy (Ron) Wolf, Sylvia (Bill) Klusener, Larry (Kim) Thein, Pat (Jeannette) Thein, and Mike (Peggy) Thein; her mother-in-law, Lylas Pensel; and her brother-in-law, James (Xochilth) Pensel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia and Lorraine (Larry) Thein; her brother-in-law, Marcus Zearley; her niece, Michelle (Freisinger) Kay; and her nephew, Jeff Galle.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Regional Medical Center Hospice in Manchester, Iowa.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Regional Medical Center Hospice and Dr. Timothy Gerst for their compassionate care.
