Judi Peterson

Judi Peterson, 71, of Ames, passed away on May 30, 2017, at Mary Greeley Medical Center.  Memorial Services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, June 3, 2017, a Bethesda Lutheran Church, 1517 Northwestern Avenue Ames, Iowa. There will be a private internment ceremony at 1 PM on Monday, June 5 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Stanhope, Iowa.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Michel Peterson, Sr; her son David Peterson and wife Shelley and their three sons Lane, Ayden, and Mylze; her son, Dennis and his wife Lisa Kritt, and his daughter Jade Carson and her husband Justin and their daughter Savannah; her sisters Karen Penry and Debi Craven; her brother, John Craven and wife Marlys; and her in-laws, Beverly Thompson, Mary Bower, Dale and Sharon Peterson, Matt and Marlene Fardal, David and Libby Peterson.

Judi was preceded in death by her children Michel Peterson Jr., Darla Peterson, and Chad Peterson; her parents, Earl and Gladys Craven (Danks); her parents in Law, Hawley and Emma Peterson (Sunnoe); a brother, Joseph Craven; brother-in law's, Philip Penry, Philip Peterson, and Lyle Thompson; and sister-in-law Marilyn Peterson.

 Judi enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and camping. A lifelong learner she enjoyed reading and researching on her computer. She was an avid genealogist who contributed to a 2 volume family history dating to the founding of the U.S. and several centuries prior into England. Judi was a Lutheran for many years, holding several offices in various churches. She was employed as a bookkeeper with her husband in their farm equipment business. She finished her career in the accounting department of the Boone County Hospital. At the time of her passing, she had been retired for several years and enjoyed winters with her husband in Arizona.
