Your life was a blessing. Your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.

Abbie was born on March 24th, 1983 in Cedar Rapids, IA to Timothy Fitzpatrick and Debra Carney (Breitbach).  She graduated from Kaplan University with a bachelor's degree in business and most recently worked at Randstad as a site coordinator before taking some time off to fight her battle with cancer and spend precious time with her beautiful children.

Abbie is preceded in death by her beautiful son Daxton Montgomery, mother Debra Carney, maternal grandparents Norbert & N. Jean Breitbach, paternal grandfather Thomas Fitzpatrick, uncle Neil Breitbach, and uncle Robert Blum.

Abbie is survived by her daughter Aniela Montgomery, sisters Katie Fitzpatrick and Elizabeth Fitzpatrick and 4 nieces and nephews; Alexis Fleetwood, Aiden Fleetwood, A.J. Miller, and Olivia Bush all of Cedar Rapids, IA. Father Tim (Denise) Fitzpatrick of Fairfax, IA.  Paternal grandmother Joan Fitzpatrick of Marion, IA, and a multitude of loving aunts, uncle's and cousins.

Abbie will be remembered for the purity of her soul. She touched so many lives and to know her was to love her. Abbie had the kindest spirit and was always the peacemaker of any situation. She forgave easily and always saw the good in people, she had a true servant's heart.  Abbie was the most loving mother and her children know how lucky they were to be placed on this earth in her care.  Abbie's spirit will carry on in every good deed that is done, every forgiveness that is given, every "I love you" that is spoken from the heart. Abbie's short time here on this earth was to touch as many lives as possible and to teach us all to be a little bit more like her. She lives on through her smart, strong willed, incredibly beautiful daughter who reminds us every day of those same qualities.  Aniela is a treasure equal to her mother. We are at peace knowing she is holding her dear son once again in her arms.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life open house to remember Abbie in an uplifting way. Please join us for food, drink and entertainment to celebrate the gift of such a beautiful soul in our lives.  Details for this celebration are coming soon and will be posted on Facebook as well as in the Gazette Milestones.

The family would like to extend a tremendous amount of thanks to Dr. Ghosh, Mindy Martin, ARNP, and the entire staff at the Ghosh Center for the love, care and respect you showed Abbie, Aniela, and Daxton. You went above and beyond each and every day making sure not only were their medical and physical needs taken care of but also their emotional, social and spiritual needs. You are all like family to us and we appreciate you more than we could ever express.

We would also like to extend our thanks to Hospice of Mercy for their assistance with a peaceful transition. Your support allowed us to stay close as a family, as we have always been, until the very end and we thank you.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the APG Foundation which provides financial assistance for treatments to cancer patients in need or to the Blesie Tree, a pay it forward organization, that provides assistance to cancer patients for non-medical wants or needs while they are receiving treatment.
