Warren Jansen

Warren Jansen, 75 of Hubbard Iowa, passed away on Saturday, March 25th 2017 at the Israel Hospice House in Ames, surrounded by his family. 

Warren James Jansen was born to Jacob and Sena (Sprock) Jansen on November 18th, 1941 in Nobles County, Minnesota.

Warren graduated in 1959 from Magnolia High School in Magnolia Minnesota. After high school he attended Worthington College for a short time before heading into the cattle industry. He retired in 2009 as Cattle Buyer for Greater Omaha. 

For all that had the privilege to know Warren, knew he enjoyed life and many hobbies. Many days were filled with golfing, car races, sharing the karaoke microphone, and watching his Minnesota Vikings and Gophers. The one thing he loved the most was spending time with family and friends fishing.

Warren is survived by his wife Cynthia, of Hubbard; Sons, Jeff (Lori) Jansen of Urbandale; Randy (Mary) Jansen of Urbandale; Daughter, Jodi (Dennis) Barkema of Jewell and Step-Son, Kevin (Lorelei) Lake, of Hubbard. He had 10 grandchildren who made him a proud grandpa. Three brothers, Marlyn (Audrey) Jansen of Magnolia, MN; Larry(Sue) Jansen of Whitewood, SD; Ron (Monica) Jansen of New Richmond, WI; Brother-in-law, Edward (Faye) DeBoer and many others who were blessed to have called him family.

Warren is preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Sena and one sister, Shirley.

A memorial service celebrating Warren’s life will be held on Thursday, April 6th at 2pm, Bethesda Lutheran Church in Jewell, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in his name to the Israel Family Hospice House, Ames Iowa.
