Joyce Ellen Glynn
Joyce Ellen Glynn, 82, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2017 at Lakeview Health Center in West Salem, WI, where she had resided for the last 4 years as she battled through complications of diabetes. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, April 8th, at 10am at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Lansing, IA, with Pastor Laura Gentry.
Born to Urbin and Cleo Brecher in La Porte City, IA on 7/30/34. She married Ralph Glynn, Jr. on 6/24/61, and they made their home in Lansing, IA upon their marriage. They owned and operated the Riv Aire Restaurant in Lansing for many years. Ralph preceded her in death in 1982, after 21 years of marriage. She went on to earn her Bachelors Degree in Education at the University of Iowa to become a school teacher. She spent 25 wonderful , fulfilling years teaching students in at Eastern Allamakee School District in Lansing, IA before retiring in 2003.
Joyce is survived by her only child, son Robert and daughter-in-law Jennifer, of Onalaska WI, six grandchildren; Alyssah, Savannah, Austin, Josh, Maddy & Minnie all of Onalaska; brother and sister-in-law, Marvin & Marlene Brecher of La Porte City, IA, and brother Ronald Brecher of Iowa and Florida. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by all her family who felt blessed being part of her life.
