Jeffrey DeLong
Jeffrey S. DeLong, 52, of Marion, died Wednesday, March 29, 2017.
Celebration of Life will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 1, at Best Western Longbranch and Convention Center in Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include two daughters, Jaimie and Darcy DeLong; three brothers, James (Kay), Robert (Diane) and Douglas (Alexa).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Mary Ellen DeLong.
Jeff was a beloved brother, friend, colleague and father. He was willing to lend a helping hand to those in need, and had a knack for being able to fix anything. He had a passion for nature, restoring muscle cars, NASCAR (Go Dale!), jamming out to rock 'n' roll, and spending time with his girls.
While he had many accomplishments throughout his life, the greatest and most rewarding was raising his two daughters. His wicked sense of humor and compassionate heart will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
"We need you. Our stubborn understanding is precious. Our way is ours. No matter what, know this We love you just the way you are."
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Jeffrey DeLong's name. Funds will be donated to the World Wildlife Fund.
