Dorothy E. Bowen
I first met Dorothy when she , her husband Roger, along with my wife and I attended an Air Force/Greenland reunion in Lexington, Ky. in May, 2002. While in the Air Force Roger and I had spent a year+ tour of duty in the Narsarssuaq AF base in Greenland during the Cold War and Korean War. Dorothy was a very pleasant and warm person we all had a wonderful time. I wish that I could have spent more time over the years with both Dot and Rog, but we did keep in contact via letters and email for the past 25+ years - for which I am very thankful. My wife and I extend our sincerest condolences to Roger and his family. Ray and Mary Ann Sparks Lake Wales, Florida
Dear Janie and family, I was so sorry to learn of the loss of your mother. You are in my thoughts and prayers. With Sympathy, Emily
Roger, You and Dot were a couple, when I saw you I saw her. When I saw you and she was not present how often you would invoke her name regarding something you were doing. For me, Roger, you were a most special person greeting me as I arrived by bus from Connecticut, sent by your friend Dave Monahan. Dot was important to Upper Iowa meaning both you and she were a voice and support for the students. I will add both of you to my prayers. God Bless her, you and the family. Fred
Since Dorothy's son Scott was one of my best friends in Fayette grade school and high school I was at their house a lot. Dorothy was a kind and gentle person tolerant of our adventures. Our two families shared many Pleasant days in and around the small town of Fayette Iowa. Jan and I express our condolences to Roger Janie Scott and John.
I never had the pleasure of meeting Dot or Roger except thru our email correspondence and friendship thru our background of his having lived in Greenland also. I can't tell you how sad I am for all of you but please know I hold you in my prayers and feel relief Dot has found eternal peace. May God bless you and sustain you in this time of great loss. Sincerely, Wynelle Gilbert (Woody, dec'd.)
Roger Please accept my condolences at the passing of your lovely wife. I am thinking of you always. mek
