Steven Knipfer

Steven Robert Knipfer was born to Debra (Moffit) Toler and Steven L. Knipfer on March 28, 1978.  He left his family on December 15, 2017 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following a long illness.
 
Steven married Leah Frahm in North English on September 22,2001. They later divorced but remained good friends. Of their union they had two sons.  Ashton Mark and Spencer Stephen.  The two boys were their dad’s pride and joy.
 
Steven had many hobbies. He loved to cook.  His family always looked forward to his pumpkin bars.  He had several house plants but his favorite hobby was spending time with his boys.  Before Steven’s illness he spent many hours riding horses with his family.
 
Steven is survived by his two sons and his parents. Two brothers Ryan (Tiffany) Knipfer and Trenton Forrest. Three sisters Carrie (friend Brett), Megan (Ken) Dich, and Danielle (friend James) Weldon. Three nephews Lane and Luke Knipfer, and Cayden Forrest. Two nieces Tierney Knipfer and Kassandra Felling. His grandmother Gay Moffit. His aunts, uncles and numerous cousins. Friend and co-parent Leah Frahm and her parents who helped and supported Steven through his illness. 
 
He is proceeded in death by his maternal grandfather Robert E. Moffit.  His paternal grandparents Donald and Florence (Flossie) Knipfer. 

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials for Ashton and Spencer’s college funds.
