James Delford Benson
We want to extend our condolences to you, Terry, and all the children and grandchildren at this loss of such a dear husband, father and grandfather. He was also the best neighbor one could wish for, always walking over to the fence if he saw us out and about. He often offered to help and one year, on Thanksgiving Day, of all days, he came over with his skid loader and moved a small mountain of dirt for us because we had mentioned we wanted to move it. He was a generous man, and to us, he seemed very humble although he has many accomplishments he could boast of. Good neighbors like him don't come often, and he will be sorely missed. We are thankful to have known him. May God bless your family at this sad time.
Terry and Family, So sorry to hear the news of Jim's passing. He was a couple years behind me in high school. I remember he liked to joke and tease and was always, always smiling. He was very kind to everyone. The world lost a really great guy.
I had just met Jim last year and he made a lasting impression with the way he came across as a man of integrity, strength and a wonderful Father to his Children. My heart breaks for the Benson Family with the Loss a such a fine Man. God Bless Jim and all whose lives he touched!
Sorry to hear about the loss of Jim. Although it has been many years since our days together at the Beta house. I remember him well as a man of integrity and kindness.
I was saddened to hear of Jim’s passing, and would also like to extend Linda's and my condolences and sympathy to Terry and Jim’s entire family. Although we shared the same last name, we were brothers only in Beta Theta Pi fraternity at Iowa State University (same pledge class, 1965). I last saw Jim at a reunion in 2006, and although the hair was thinner, the beard fuller, and both greyer (as are most of us), Jim was the same guy I remembered from forty years earlier, always a smile and hint of a funny story he was about to tell. We should have had more reunions . . . . . , he will be missed!
My sympathy to the family. He was a great guy who made people smile. Thoughts and prayers.
My heartfelt sympathy to you and your family Terry on the loss of Jim! God bless all of you l in this time of sadness. He was the quiet presence behind noise. Such a nice picture...captures the man I remember.
Our hearts are saddened by Jim's leaving us so soon. No finer man than this gentleman. Our memories with your family are many and I can only imagine how much he will be missed. A beautiful picture of Jim..that kind gentle twinkle in his eye when he spoke or listened. God Bless your family.
I’m sorry this comes so late. But I loved Jim, and I’m so grateful for his family and what they have meant for my life. Be blessed!
My deepest sympathies to you Terry and your family as you say your goodbyes to your rock. He was such an enjoyable person always making time for a “hello, how are you”. The L-M part of northwest Iowa will miss him and his wisdom, caring and smile forever!
