Harold Alex Stricker

Harold Alex Stricker age 86 of Osage passed away August 2nd at the Faith Lutheran Home in Osage, Iowa.  Cremation has taken place. 

A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 12 at Trinity Lutheran Church 402 State St. in Osage with the Rev. Bruce Kaltwasser officiating.  Inurnment will be at a later date.  A celebration of life will take place at the American Legion 504 Main St. in Osage immediately following the memorial service. 

Harold was born August 27th 1930 in Plymouth, Iowa.  He married Mary Ann Wietzel on October 16th, 1949 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mason City, Iowa.  He worked at the Armour packing plant in Mason City before being drafted into the military serving in Korea for Two years.  After his service, he returned to Armour until 1955 when he moved to Orchard, Iowa, where he was engaged in farming for the rest of his life.  He was an American Legion member for 62 years, a VFW member for 43 years and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Harold loved to hunt and fish.  He had a special love for his property on the Mississippi River where he spent countless weekends.  

Harold is survived by his wife of 67 years Mary Ann, son Michael (Marsha) Stricker,
daughter-in-law Candice Stricker.  Grandchildren, Jerad (Amber) Stricker,  Shannon (Dustin) Bieber, Mandy (Matt) Freer.  Great grandchildren Ella, Lucy, Anna, and Hudson Stricker, Dylan and Brady Bieber, Henry and Ellery Freer.  Brother, Ralph Stricker and sister in-law Irene Stricker.  Many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son Kent Stricker, his parent, father and mother in-law Adam and Mary Wietzel, two sisters, three brothers, two brother in-laws, and three sister in-laws.
