Frank Benjamin Dennis Sr.

Frank Dennis Sr., of Madrid, IA, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at the Madrid Home. Inurnment will be at a future date in the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter. 

Frank Benjamin Dennis was born to Jacob Henry Dennis and Yvonne (Hudson) Dennis on March 9, 1929 in Hastings, NE. Frank was a structural engineer before retiring from his firm, Dennis and Magnani, PC, in 1995. In 1999, Frank married Bette Dennis in Des Moines, Iowa. She preceded him in death in 2006.

Frank was a Marine Corps veteran of both World War II and the Korean War. He played football for the University of Nebraska and was a lifelong Cornhusker fan. 

Frank is survived by his sons and daughters; Kelly Dennis of Woodward, IA, Andy Dennis of Des Moines, IA, Pam Dennis of Ogden, IA, Frank Dennis Jr. of Corning, IA, John Dennis of New Providence, IA, Yvonne Dennis of Corning, IA, Michelle Dennis-Schmitt of Asheville, NC, step-daughter Cheryl Golden of Omaha, NE; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Jacob Dennis, mother Yvonne and his sister Sandy Dennis, an Academy-Award winning actress. 
 
The family would like to thank the staff of the Madrid Home and HCI Care Services for the support and care they provided to Frank during his final days.  Memorials may be directed to the Madrid Home or HCI Hospice Care Services.
