Donald "Dutch" Kromminga

Donald “Dutch” Kromminga, 88, died Thursday, August 10, 2017 at the Keystone Nursing Care Center.

Visitation will be from 4 -7 p.m. Tuesday, August 15 at St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 16 at St. John’s. Luncheon will follow the church service.

Dutch was born on July 20, 1929 near Blairstown. He graduated from Keystone High School in 1946. On February 14, 1950 he married Mardean Seeck. They started farming north of Van Horne, and later farmed near Keystone.

Dutch was an avid bowler and golfer, and enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s activities. He was a founding member of the Keystone Nursing Care Center, and served as president of the board for over 40 years.

 Dutch is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mardean of Keystone, two sons, Steven (Mary Rita) and Mark (Debra) all of Belle Plaine; son-in-law Douglas (Lynda) Wagner of Glencoe, MN; 7 grandchildren: 11 great grandchildren, sister Elaine (Kenneth) Selk, step-sister Margarete Willmore; brother-in-law John (Joan) Seeck; many nieces and nephews; and family and friends in Germany. 

He was preceded in death by his daughter Shellie Kromminga; his parents Ferdinand and Else Kromminga/Buck; step-father Henry Buck, brothers and wives Edmund and Genevieve and Duane and Elaine Kromminga; and step brother-in-law James Willmore.

 Memorial donations may be made to Keystone Nursing Care Center, St. John Lutheran Church, and Compassus Hospice.
