Carrie Gambaiani

Carrie T. Gambaiani, 103, of Waverly, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Bartels Lutheran Home in Waverly.  A memorial service will be held on September 12, 2017 at 11 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Chapel, 112 2nd Avenue NW, Waverly, Iowa, with a luncheon following at the church.
 
Carrie Tena Gambaiani was born on November 20, 1913 to Jacob and Grace Arenholz Miller in Butler County, Iowa.  She was united in marriage to Frank Gambaiani on June 11, 1933 at St. John Lutheran Church in Clarksville, Iowa, the same church where Carrie was baptized and confirmed.  Carrie loved to dance, travel and was a great pie maker.  She loved dogs and one of her best friends was her therapy dog, Charlie.
 
She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Gambaiani of Waverly; her step brothers, Jake Mehmen of Greene; Ray (Josephine) Mehmen of Waverly; Henry (Belda) Mehmen of Shell Rock; brother-in-law, Paul (Dixie) Gambaiani of Hawarden; numerous nieces and nephews; and special family, Brian (Jan) Harvey of Waverly.
 
Carrie was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; parents; brother, Koert Miller; step brother, Ralph Mehmen; brothers-in-law, Joe, Tony (Marie), Frank, John (Yvonne), Benny, Peter (Betty), Louis (Darlene); sisters-in-law, Ida, Mary, infant, Liz; and son-in-law, Duane Harvey.
 
Memorial donations may be directed to the Cedar Valley Hospice, 207 20th Street NW, Waverly, Iowa 50677.
