Shirley Yvonne Merritt, 73, of Anamosa, passed away Friday, April 28th at Jones Regional Hospital with her loving family by her side.
Memorial service will be held at 11am, Saturday, May 6th at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Anamosa. There will be a luncheon following the service.
Shirley was born on May 11, 1943 to Clifford and Leona Taylor in Anamosa, Iowa. On May 27, 1962 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Robert Merritt. She loved to go for long drives in the country, being out in nature watching the birds and spending time in the garden. Most of all she loved spending time with her siblings, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Robert; children: Vicki Mull, Rod Merritt, Mary (Jason) Franks, and Tanya (Tim) Kruger; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings: Robert Taylor and Patricia Taylor.
