Fabian Robinson
Fabian Robinson, 93, of Hospers, Iowa passed away April 17th, 2017 at Sanford Care Center in Sheldon, Iowa. The memorial service will be held Friday, May 12th at 10:30 a.m.at the First Presbyterian Church, 200 Elm Street, Hospers, Iowa. Pastor Brian Janssen will be officiating. Internment will be at a later date at Fayette, Iowa.
Fabian was born May 3, 1923 at Fayette, Iowa to Dr. and Mrs. Harry Robinson.
He served in the South Pacific during World War II as a medic with the American Division of the US Army infantry, which was a joint division of America and Caldonia, the only division during World War II that was formed overseas.
He married Mildred McElree on October 12th, 1947 at the Methodist Church at Fayette, Iowa. He graduated from Upper Iowa University in 1950. He also attended summer school sessions at Iowa State University, University of Northern Iowa and Michigan State. He was a volunteer fireman and emergency technician for many years at Ocheyedan, Iowa. He taught at the Ocheyedan public school for twenty years where he taught drivers education and industrial arts. He moved to Hospers, Iowa in May of 2008 where his son and family live. He was a member of the Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge, and the Sioux City Shrine.
He is survived by his wife Mildred, daughter Vicki (Rick) Schnell of Anoka, Minnesota and son Michael (Krista) of Hospers, Iowa, three grandchildren, Ashley of Omaha, David of Council Bluffs and Kayla of Hospers, two step grandchildren, Kiley and Mason. He was proceeded in death by his mother and father and brothers Edward and Arthur.
