I met Dee at First Lutheran Church and she always had something good to say to lift a person's spirits. I joined the Decorah water aquasize group when she was still there. We made a few movie dates and went to "Julia" and "MaMa Mia" together. We enjoyed each others company and she would never tell me her age. Then, I found out she turned 100 and couldn't believe that in her 90"s she had such energy and love of live. One thing she always talked about was how much she missed her Will.....I am so happy that she is reunited with the love of her life. I'm sure she hasn't stopped smiling and dancing with Will.
Dear family, we were sorry to hear that Dee had passed away a few months ago, when we were reading the Decorah paper. Our Mother, Grace Spilde, so enjoyed meeting such an interesting person when they lived next door to each other at assisted living across the street from Aase. Dee never stopped being gracious, warm, and inviting whenever our family went to Decorah to visit Mother. I'm happy that Dee lived such a wonderful life Cathy Jansa
My Mom, Paulette Henry, met Dee through one of the many social clubs Dee belonged to in Decorah. Mom so enjoyed Dee and could always look forward to cards in the mail and newspaper clippings with small notes on them whenever us kids were recognized. Mom was lucky enough to know Wil and met him several times. Dee was one of a kind and will be missed. She certainly made an impression on so many in her 104 years! I'm sure her and Mom are having coffee and cake and having a wonderful laugh together in heaven. I'm almost jealous!
